Do tattoos and piercings hurt?

Yes, but it’s not nearly as bad as you think. A lot of people say getting a tattoo feels a lot like getting a scratch on a fresh sunburn. Of course, everybody has different levels of pain tolerance.

What do I do if I think my piercing or tattoo is infected?

First things first, come to the shop so we can look at it. More often that not, it is running the course of the healing process and what you are experiencing is normal. But if you have any questions or concerns feel free to come in to talk to us!

Can I go swimming with my new tattoo or piercing?

The short answer is no. For tattoos you want to wait at least two weeks or until it is fully healed. For piercings you want to wait at least a month, sometimes longer with certain slow healing piercings, such as some cartilage or navel piercings.

My tattoo is peeling and it looks like color is falling out - is this normal?

Yes it is. A tattoo will peel similar to a sunburn but it shouldn’t scab heavily. There will be some pigment in the peeling skin as well.

Can my friends come to my appointment with me?

Of course you are welcome to bring a friend or two, but our shop can be very busy and it’s important to try to be considerate of the other people getting tattooed or pierced as well.

I’m super nervous- what should I do?

The easiest way to combat nerves is to be well fed, well rested, and well hydrated. Don’t go out partying the night before, get a good night’s sleep and have a good meal a couple of hours before your appointment.

Is it okay to tip the artist?

Tips are always appreciated but never expected.

How long do tattoos and piercings take to heal?

Tattoos generally take about 14 days to heal, sometimes a little bit longer. A piercing can take anyway from 4 weeks up to a year or more depending on the location. A good example of a slow-healing piercing would be an Industrial, which is an ear cartilage piercing.

I only have a picture of my ID, is that acceptable?

No, unfortunately we require a current, valid state or government issued ID for ALL clients.
